A local MP toured gardens in Rayleigh over the August Bank Holiday, to help raise money for Holy Trinity Church.
Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, took part in the ‘Rayleigh Garden Trail’, organised by the Friends of Holy Trinity Church, to help raise funds for the upkeep of the iconic fourteenth century church, at the top of Rayleigh High Street. Mark, who also serves as President of the Friends, joined local residents in a tour of gardens right across the town, which homeowners opened for public display, as a fundraiser.
Commenting on the event, Mark said:
“As President of the Friends, I would like to thank all those local residents who very kindly opened their lovely gardens, for others to enjoy and in order to raise funds for this beautiful church. Since their foundation back in 1996, the Friends have raised over £860,000 to help maintain and refurbish the church and this very enjoyable weekend will have added further to that impressive total.”
