Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois recently visited Rayleigh Primary School in Love Lane, to see for himself their project to raise awareness of the importance of recycling by creating a building in the school garden made almost entirely from plastic bottles.
Mark met a number of School Governors and was then taken on a tour of the school by head teacher Peter Malcolm. Mark also spoke to a number of the pupils before visiting the new building that has recently been made by them as a part of a project they are doing on the environment.
Speaking after the visit, Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois MP said:
“Rochford District Council has recently been acknowledged as having the highest recycling rate in the country, and from what I saw at Rayleigh Primary School I can see that their enthusiasm has now rubbed off on a younger generation to. Protecting the environment can only be done if we all take an interest and so raising awareness of the issue in this way is very important. I was very impressed by the School and look forward to keeping in contact in the future.”
