Rayleigh MP Mark Francois recently visited the Downhall Under Fives pre-school in their new purpose built premises, located at Ferndale Open Space, Ferndale Road, Rayleigh.
The local pre-school has been operating for over twenty years and was previously based in a Scout Hut and then the Church Hall of St Thomas of Canterbury Church Hullbridge. However, after raising £150,000 the pre-school recently reopened in its new location on the northern edge of Rayleigh.
During his visit, Mark chatted to staff at the pre-school and heard about the two year campaign to raise funding to reopen the pre-school in their new premises. Mark also noticed how much the children were enjoying the activities laid on by the staff.
Commenting on his visit Mark Francois said:
“There are a number of good pre-schools in the Rayleigh area and Downhall Under Fives is certainly one of them. I was impressed by the obvious commitment of the staff, who were enthusiastic about the pre-school and its future. I hope to remain in touch with Downhall Under Fives and see them continue to develop successfully.”
