Rayleigh's MP Mark Francois made a brief journey to the outskirts of Rochford recently when he performed the official opening ceremony of a new hair care and beauty training salon at King Edmund School, in Ashingdon. Mark, who has visited the school in the past, was invited to perform the opening by Headteacher Mr Graham Abel, who has worked hard to bring this project to fruition.
The new salon, which is fitted out to a high standard, is used to train students in becoming hairdressers and beauticians and, according to some of the staff in charge of the courses, some of the students are even beginning to talk about opening their own salons in the future if they get the chance. Commenting on his visit to open the new facility at the school, Mark Francois said:
""The new training salon is a top notch facility which s now available to train students in hair care and related beauty therapies. For all we know we could have another Vidal Sasoon emerging from the King Edmund School salon at some point in the future. I was delighted to be asked to perform the official opening and I wish the salon and the school all the best for the future.""
