A South Essex MP recently paid a visit to a new local children’s charity, at their new HQ, opposite Rayleigh Station. Supporting Carers and Families Together (SCAFT) is a long-established local charity, which provides support for children who help act as carers for parents, who face a variety of challenging issues.
Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois, who has been President of SCAFT for many years, paid a visit to the charity in their new headquarters, just opposite Rayleigh Station (following their recent move from their previous base, above a shop in Rayleigh High Street).
During his visit, Mark was briefed by the charity’s Chairman, C. Cllr June Lumley, on the organisation’s ongoing work to support children in very difficult circumstances, by organising meetings of children in similar circumstances and offering them advice and support.
Commenting on his visit to their new HQ, Mark said:
“I am proud to serve as President of SCAFT, which supports children, with often very difficult lives, including helping to care for parents who sometimes struggle to care for them in return. The charity’s new offices, opposite Rayleigh Station, will now provide them with a firm base, from which to carry out this vital work, right across the Rochford District, for which I want to thank them very much."
