Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois, recently paid a Friday visit to well established local taxi firm, Bestax, at their base at Rayleigh station.
Mark was met at the taxi office by Director, Mark Adkins, who owns the company and one of his Senior Managers, and local resident, Scott Peters, who has been a driver for Bestax for
his Senior Managers, and local resident, Scott Peters, who has been a driver for Bestax for many years and worked his way up the ranks.
Whilst on his visit, Mark saw the control room in action, as live bookings were coming in and taxis were being dispatched to take local residents to a variety of Friday evening
engagements, across the Rochford District.
Commenting on his visit, Mark said:
“As someone who has lived in Rayleigh for almost 25 years now, I have used Bestax, as the
local taxi company, more times than I can remember. Like many, the Firm had a tough time
during Covid, but they are thankfully now back to full strength in terms of drivers- with over
90 now on their books. Bestax have provided a good service to my constituents for many
years and so it was a pleasure to have an opportunity to see the company in action and I wish
them all the best for the future.”
