Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, was introduced to NHS staff from Audley Mills Surgery, who now pay regular visits to Sweyne Court care home in Rayleigh, to check on the health of patients living there.
The idea behind the new service is to try and “nip problems in the bud” by identifying medical needs at an early stage, before they become more acute and perhaps require hospital treatment. Mark, who saw the new scheme in action during a visit to Sweyne Court, was impressed by how it works.
Commenting on the visit, Mark said:
“I had a very positive visit to Sweyne Court in Rayleigh. I was particularly impressed by this new scheme, run out of Audley Mills Surgery, to visit elderly patients in the home, rather than the other way around and thus to try and flag up any medical needs early on. All involved were clearly very committed to making this work and I wish them every success.”
