Mark Francois MP, dropped by a re-located Library recently, to see how it’s new location was going down with the town’s residents.
Wickford Library has been re-located from its old base on Market Street to a new home, in what was previously the HSBC bank, in the Willowdale Centre, less than a hundred yards from its former site.
Wickford’s MP popped in to see the library in action, including the Summer Reading Challenge - by which Essex youngsters are encouraged to pick and then read six books over the Summer holidays. Mark was accompanied on his visit by Wickford Essex County Councillor, Tony Ball.
Commenting on their visit, Mark Francois, said:
“I was pleased to see Wickford Library appears to be thriving in its new home, in the former HSBC building. When I visited the Library was busy, not least because of the popular Summer Reading Challenge. It seems the Library has found a successful new home.”
