Last weekend, Mark Francois MP met with ex-army veteran Mr Steve Parker; Cllr Luke Mackenzie, the Mayor of Basildon, and several volunteers, to help generate support for Ukrainians, by loading up two vans of essential supplies.
Steve, first began collecting supplies at ‘Boxers’, his local Barbershop in Wickford, just over a year ago, and he and his team have now completed over twenty humanitarian missions to Ukraine.
Mark helped volunteers load supplies and donations, which are now en route to Ukraine. Amongst these supplies were four mobile generators, which will help contribute to providing vital power for Ukraine and its people, over the winter months.
Following the visit, Mark Francois MP commented:
“It was wonderful to meet with Steve again and see the fabulous work that he and his volunteers, from ‘Boxers Barbers’, continue to do for those affected by this terrible war. Over the last year or so, Steve has been relentless in his campaign to raise funds and supplies for those Ukrainians who remain in desperate need of our support.”
“Having visited Ukraine myself, just before Christmas, I saw how generators are essential in helping to ensure hospitals and other critical facilities remain operational. I have raised this issue in Parliament several times, so I was delighted to be able to support this process, to help keep Ukraine supplied over the winter months.”
