Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois and his friend and Parliamentary neighbour, Sir David Amess, recently attended a special Rayleigh Town Council Civic Service at Holy Trinity Church to see Councillor June Lumley receive a blessing as the new Chairman of Rayleigh Town Council.
June Lumley, who also serves the people of the Town as both a District and a County Councillor, will now serve as Chairman of the Town Council, based at King George’s Field in Rayleigh, for the civic year, running through to May 2020. A very experienced Councillor, who has worked for the people of the Town for over 20 years, June will bring considerable knowledge and background to this role in leading the award-winning Town Council.
The service, which was also attended by other civic dignitaries, was presided over by the Reverend Tracy Marlow, who said prayers for the Town Council and its new leader and then performed a full blessing, wishing June all the best for her civic year ahead. The well attended service was then followed by tea in the Holy Trinity Church Hall.

I would also like to take the opportunity to wish June Lumley all the best for what I’m sure will be a very successful year as Chairman of Rayleigh Town Council.”
