Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois recently spent an evening attending a special civic service to mark the installation of Councillor Jack Lawmon, as the new chairman of Rayleigh Town Council.
The service, which was held at the Parish church of Holy Trinity, Rayleigh was also attended by Mr Dan Squire, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Essex and his wife Marion. Sir David Amess, the MP for Southend West, also attended the service.
The Reverend David Oxtoby, the rector of Holy Trinity, welcomed Councillor Lawmon to his new responsibilities and bestowed on him a special blessing, wishing him all the very best for the new civic year which lies ahead.

“It was very good to attend this service alongside my fellow MP Sir David Amess and the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, in order to see Jack Lawmon installed as the new chairman of Rayleigh Town Council. As an ex-police officer, I know that Jack has a firm commitment to the community and along with all other attendees, I wished him all the very best of luck for his new appointment
