Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois recently visited Riverside Medical Centre in Hullbridge, where he was shown plans to expand the centre, in order to cope with the arrival of new patients, caused by the forthcoming housing development at Malyons Farm.
Mark was shown the plans by Mr Martyn Smith, the Practice Manager, who explained to Mark the intention to add a second storey to the front part of the building, in order to provide additional consulting rooms and office space for a larger practice.
In response, Mark offered to back the plans and to make representations to NHS England and the local Rochford and Castle Point Clinical Commissioning Group, on behalf of his constituents in Hullbridge, who would clearly benefit from an expanded medical facility.
Commenting on his visit Mark Francois said:
“Riverside Medical Centre provides a vital service for my constituents in Hullbridge and it is only right that it should be expanded in order to cope with additional housing in the village. I was briefed on these plans in outline and when Riverside have put together more detailed proposals I would be very happy to go in to bat on their behalf to try and help them secure the funding they will need to bring about this very necessary expansion. I have agreed to stay closely in touch with the practice manager Martyn Smith and his colleagues at Riverside as the proposals play out.”
