Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois took time to attend the Holt Farm Junior School Fete in Hawkwell, where he paid tribute to the School’s headteacher Mrs Wass and her dedicated team of volunteers from the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for their tremendous efforts in putting on what looks like a record breaking school summer fete.
The hundreds of families who attended and enjoyed the glorious weather were treated to a whole range of stalls and entertainment, all of which contributed to a really fun day out. At the end of the day, Mark was happy to draw the raffle which comprised of some 40 prizes, including a bottle of wine donated by Mark. Whilst the proceedings from the fete are still being calculated, it does look as though the school will have broken all previous records and raised several thousand pounds towards facilities for the children at Holt Farm School.
Commenting on his participation during the day, Mark Francois said:
“Holt Farm Junior School and all the parents and volunteers who assisted them, laid on a cracking school fete which had a really bumper turn out. I was particularly impressed by the dedication of Mrs Wass and the members of the PTA who had clearly put a tremendous amount of time and thought into planning such a successful event. I was pleased to hear that the school believe they have broken all previous records and I wish them every success in the future.”
