Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois recently welcomed a group of Sixth Form Politics students from Fitzwimarc School to Westminster.
The politics students, were taken on a tour of the Palace of Westminster including both Chambers, before attending workshops on Parliament at the Parliamentary Education Centre. Mark spent time with the group in a question and answer session, during which he responded to subjects on his role as an MP and had an in depth discussion with the students on Brexit, the impact of Brexit on the younger generation, the future of the negotiations and voting at sixteen.
Speaking about the visit by Fitzwimarc School, Mark said:
“It was a pleasure to welcome the students from Fitzwimarc to Parliament and see the fantastic Parliamentary Education Centre in use. I was really put through my paces by the group and I was very impressed by the in-depth questions the group asked of me. I was very pleased to see the strong interest all the students had in current politics and I am pleased the group enjoyed their day in Parliament. I look forward to remaining in touch with the school in the future.”
