Rayleigh and Wickford Conservatives paid tribute to Mr Hilton Brown, the longstanding Chairman of the constituency association, who retired from the post at the Association’s AGM recently.
Hilton Brown has been the Chairman of the Association on and off for many years and is widely respected by local MP Mark Francois, councillors and activists alike.
As a token of gratitude for his loyal service, Mark presented Hilton Brown with a pair of engraved House of Commons crystal wine goblets for him and his wife Isabelle to enjoy. Hilton is not completely retiring, however, and he will continue to serve as the Association’s Deputy Chairman for political and campaigning for the next three years.
Speaking about the special presentation, Mark said:
“Hilton Brown has been a stalwart of Rayleigh and Wickford Conservative Association for many years as well as being my agent at the last five general elections. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Hilton and the Association and I wanted to honour his long service with an appropriate gift. However, I am relieved to know that Hilton will be continuing to serve as an officer of the association and bringing his great experience and common sense to bear.”
