Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois recently accepted an invitation to visit Holt Farm Junior School in Hawkwell, to meet with the School Council for tea and cake. School councillors are elected by the pupils in each class, to present their views on the running of the school to teachers and Headmistress Mrs Wass.
During the visit, Mark met with the school councillors, who briefed him on some of the many activities that the school has been taking part in to raise money for local and national charities, as well as other projects the school are involved with. In particular, the school and its pupils have been strong supporters of the BBC’s Children in Need appeal.
Commenting on his visit, Mark Francois said:
“I had a very enjoyable visit to Holt Farm Junior School where I met with the School Council and the Headmistress Mrs Wass to discuss the charitable activities of the children and to see how the school is now thriving under her leadership. I look forward to seeing Holt Farm Juniors continue to prosper in years to come.”
