Rayleigh and Wickford MP and former Armed Forces Minister Mark Francois recently showed his support for the Armed Forces Covenant during Defence Questions in the House of Commons.
In reply to a question from Mark on the Covenant, Mark Lancaster MP, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Defence, revealed that almost 1,500 Companies and Charities have now signed the Covenant to demonstrate their support for the Armed Forces and their families.
These businesses include companies like BAE Systems, Nike and Tesco and many others, some of whom now offer discounts to serving personnel, their families and military veterans.
Commenting after Defence Questions, Mark said:
“I was pleased to hear from the Minister that there is growing support of our military personnel, both for regular and reservists, from British businesses through the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant. I would strongly encourage any local business that has not already done so to consider supporting the Armed Forces through signing the Covenant. More details are available on the MOD website.”
