Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois has expressed his delight at the recent decision by Education Chief’s that Castledon Special School in Wickford will be allowed to open a sixth form from September 2017.
Mark has visited the school on several occasions and strongly backed the sixth form initiative, as there is a lack of sixth form provision amongst special schools across the South Essex area and this important development will help to plug that gap.
Commenting on the announcement, Mark Francois said:
“This is really good news for Castledon School, staff, pupils and parents and indeed for those people who have children with special needs who might want to have access to a sixth form in the future. As a strong backer of this proposal I am delighted to hear that it has been successful and I very much look forward to the sixth form opening in the autumn of next year.”
