Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois met a group of A-level Government and Politics students who were being asked to come up with arguments both for and against Brexit when he made a recent visit to the college in Benfleet.
Mark met with college Principal and Chief Executive, Nick Spenceley and discussed a variety of educational issues with him, before being taken by Mr Spenceley on a tour of the college, much of which has been refurbished in recent years.
Along the way, Mark dropped in on a Government and Politics class where students had divided into two groups, in order to generate arguments both for and against Britain leaving the European Union. Mark was able to join in this exchange between the students and answered a number of questions on why he is personally backing Brexit.
Commenting on his visit to Seevic, Mark Francois said:
“I had a really enjoyable morning visiting Seevic College as a guest of the principal Nick Spenceley and it was particularly good to have an opportunity to discuss the topical issue of Brexit in some detail with his Government and Politics students. Seevic seemed a very lively place and I know that Nick Spenceley has been working hard to drive up standards and improve facilities for the students in his time as Principal.”
