Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois, recently took time on a busy Friday to visit successful local business, Saving Energy Ltd based in Wickford, a green energy company specialising in insulation and solar panels.
During the visit, Mark met with Danielle Fulker, the award winning Director of the successful, family run business, to discuss the Governments’ policy regarding solar panels and funding of home insulation, particularly for vulnerable customers. Mark was then taken on a tour of the premises where he was able to meet with some of the staff.
Saving Energy have secured several Basildon Business Awards in their relatively short life (they opened in 2007), Including Excellent Customer Service, Finalists in Environmental Awareness and most recently Danielle Fulker won Business Woman of the Year.
The local company provide energy efficiency services to 32 of the 33 London Borough Councils, working directly with the Department of Health in delivering a program to vulnerable residents across the boroughs and within the community. This initiative includes supplying winter warmer kits and innovative energy saving devices, to help them reduce their usage and save them money.
Commenting on the visit, Mark said:
"It was good to be able to visit such a successful local business in my constituency, especially one doing such good work for the environment. I previously served on the House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee (EAC) and I have taken an interest in environmental issues ever since, so I appreciated the time I spent with Danielle and her team learning about the business. Danielle and her company are clearly very enthusiastic about their work and I wish them all the very best for the future."
