Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois, recently paid a visit to Glebe Schools, in Rayleigh, ahead of their planned merger, which will see the junior and infant schools combined to form Glebe Primary School, which will take effect from the beginning of the new school year in September 2014.
On his visit to the school, Mark met with Headteacher, Ms Sam Warner, where he had the opportunity to discuss the upcoming merger and the many benefits it should bring to the school, as well as other issues that the school is facing.
Mark was also taken on a tour of the school where he had the opportunity to meet with staff and pupils, including those from the specialist hearing impaired unit, while their lessons where taking place.
Commenting on his visit, Mark Francois said:
"I had a very enjoyable visit and it was good to have a chance to meet Ms Warner and to discuss the upcoming merger of Glebe Infant and Junior Schools. It was evident from my visit that the school are well prepared and that the pupils are happy, which was reflected in the children’s polite behaviour and friendly demeanour. I wish Ms Warner and everyone at Glebe all the best for a successful merger later this year."
