Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, recently paid a visit to Hawkwell Post Office to see the recently installed cash point facility.
The Sub Postmaster, Mr Nick Aston, has successfully applied for permission to install a wall-mounted cash machine, which has been operating for several weeks already. The move means that Hawkwell residents will have the convenience of being able to take out their cash quickly and easily, which will also help the local economy.
Cash machines are the most popular method of cash withdrawal in the UK and the free to use cash machine will enable customers of all banks to withdraw their money at any time of the day or night, even when the Post Office is closed.
Commenting on the new facility, Mark Francois said:
“This is good news for local residents in Hawkwell, who will have the convenience of withdrawing cash without having to travel further afield to get their hands on their own money. It should also help to make the Hawkwell Post Office more viable so I think this is a double dose of good news for my constituents.
