During his visit, Mark was also able to spend part of his time with the Headteacher Richard Green and the school governors discussing matters affecting the school, such as the possibility of applying for Academy status and a potential bid to Sport England to extend the school’s sports hall.
As part of the visit, Mark was also shown the brand new music classroom which has recently been built by the school - and is now open for use.
Commenting on his visit, Mark said:
“I had a very informative visit to Grove Wood Primary School and it was very kind of the staff and governors to give up so much of their time to spend with me. I was pleased to see that everything at Grove Wood Primary School was in such good order and that the new music classroom, which seems very popular with the pupils, was just about to open. In addition, I am pleased to see that Grove Wood Primary School is applying for Academy status - a move which I wholeheartedly support - and I hope that they will be successful in their application.”
