Rayleigh Conservative Club were recently selected, for the first time in the club’s history, to host the Association of Conservative Clubs Eastern Region Conference, which was also addressed by local Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois.
The conference, which welcomed delegates from over 14 other conservative clubs in the eastern region, is an opportunity for Conservative Clubs across the Eastern counties to come together and share knowledge and best practice. Delegates were also able to view the club’s bar area, which was recently refurbished at a cost of several thousand pounds.
In addition to Mark, who is President of the Rayleigh Conservative Club, the conference was addressed by a variety of speakers, including the National Secretary of the Association of Conservative Clubs, Phillip Smith.
Commenting on the conference, Mark Francois said:
“The Association of Conservative Clubs plays an important role in sharing best practice among Con Clubs across the country and this is the first time the Rayleigh club has hosted a meeting of this kind. This is very timely as the club has recently spent several thousand pounds completely refurbishing its bar area and the delegates who attended took advantage of the newly spruced up facilities! As President of the Rayleigh Con Club, I was delighted to be asked to say a few words and the National Secretary of the Association of Con Clubs, Phillip Smith, very kindly praised the club on its recent refurbishment and on successfully hosting the event.”
