Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois continued his programme of visits to schools in the new Wickford part of his constituency when he attended the recent awards ceremony at Beauchamps High School and helped to give out certificates and prizes to successful students. Mark handed out certificates to students who have successfully completed their studies up to year 11, as well as some who have moved on to education.
Mark also delivered a speech to the two hundred or so assembled students and their parents, in which he praised the good standard of education available at Beauchamps as well as commending the students on their achievements to date. Mark also explained how he had been educated at Nicholas (now James Hornsby) school in Basildon, prior to attending university in Bristol and London and subsequently being elected to Parliament in 2001.
Commenting on his visit to Beauchamps High School Mark Francois said:
“I had a really enjoyable evening at Beauchamps and I was impressed both by the commitment of the staff and the enthusiasm of so many of the students and their evident determination to get on in life. On a personal note, I also met a couple of people that I had been at school with back in Basildon years ago and who are now parents of students at the school and it was really nice to be able to catch up with them as well. All in all it was a very successful evening for the school and I was delighted to have been asked to be a part of it.”
