The charity, which helps to provide transport primarily for senior citizens and the disabled, with a fleet of some seven mini busses plus additional vehicles, recently surveyed its customers to find out if they were happy with the services that they are being given. Some of the results of the survey, which has just been released, were remarkable. For example, when asked about how understanding the staff were of travel problems that its clients experienced, 78% said the staff were “very understanding” while 21% claimed they were “understanding”. Only 1% claimed they were “not very understanding” and nobody said they did not understand – providing a satisfaction rating of some 99%.
Some 85% of clients said that the service was always available, or frequently available, to meet their travel needs while there was also near universal acclaim for the services’ punctuality and the helpfulness of its drivers, as well as the understanding the drivers have of any physical disabilities that clients might experience.
Mark paid a visit to Wyvern Community Transport’s base at Kiln Road in Benfleet (behind the Castle Point Council’s offices) where he met with transport manager Andy Woodley and other staff of the organisation and praised them for providing a service that is obviously very popular with its customers.
Commenting on his visit and the results of the survey, Mark Francois said:
“As President of Wyvern Community Transport some people might say that we are blowing our own trumpet here, but I do have to say that the results of the survey are remarkable and many organisations in the public sector would be very pleased to have satisfaction ratings like these. Wyvern does provide a really excellent service for people who might otherwise have difficulty in getting around and it is heartening to see that the people that rely on Wyvern appreciate what all the staff and volunteers do in order to help them. As their President; I would like to congratulate them on a job well done.”
