Honorary President of the Rayleigh, Rochford and District Association for Voluntary Service (RRAVS), Mark Francois MP, recently attended their annual general meeting in order to address the volunteers and thank them for their ongoing dedication and hard work.
Mark had the opportunity to speak at the meeting, where he was able to express his gratitude to RRAVS members for their work, despite the challenging financial situation. Mark also assured the members of his continuing commitment to help them seek further assistance through supporting any applications for grant funding, not only for RRAVS, but for other organisations it helps support, wherever such bids are merited.
RRAVS has been established in the Rochford District since 1988, and has been the catalyst for much community activity, including the establishment of Wyvern Community Transport, the carers support organisation, and providing valuable services across a wide range of ages from the very young, to adults of all ages. It is an umbrella organisation representing the interests of all voluntary and charitable groups in the Rochford District.
Commenting on the meeting, Mark said:
“It was good to be able to attend the RRAVS AGM, and I was very grateful to be able to say a few words. I would like to reiterate how proud I am to be the Honorary President of an organisation which does so much very good work for the local community. I was also grateful for the opportunity bid farewell to Ron Rowson, the outgoing Chairman of RAVVS, and to thank him for his immense contribution which he has made to the development and growth of RRAVS over many years, and also for the tremendous difference which Ron has made to our community as a result.”
