The refurbishment comes as part of a three year investment and support programme, which is the largest in the history of the Post Office and will see around half of the Post Office network (around 6000 branches) converting to more modern and convenient premises.
The existing Post Office will temporarily close for refurbishment on Tuesday 13th August and the newly modernised Grange branch is now scheduled to re-open, at its current location, on Friday 30th August at 1:00pm and will in future provide longer, more convenient opening hours, including on Saturdays and Sundays.
Commenting on the plans to revamp the Grange Post Office, Mark Francois said:
“The Post Office is a vital part of communities, not least those in my constituency of Rayleigh and Wickford, and has long provided a platform for essential and every day services. Since I was first elected in 2001, I have received more representations regarding the maintenance of Post Office services than on any other subject, so I know how important this issue is to my constituents. I am pleased that, following the recent successful relocation of the Hullbridge Post Office, Grange Post Office is now also being modernised - which will hopefully improve the quality of service and accessibility for my constituents.”
