Thousand of people are expected to gather to demonstrate their support for our Armed Forces at the event in Rayleigh, which is expected be one of the biggest ever Armed Forces celebrations held in south Essex.
The day has been organised by Dan Rogers and the Essex Military Support Association (EMSA) will include the British Army's Parachute display team the "Tigers", with further entertainment to include a flypast by a Spitfire and a Tornado, a military band as well as a number of demonstration displays, military vehicle displays and various stalls around the field, including a variety of military units and local cadets as well.
As well as being a great day out for all the family, the event will also provide an important opportunity to raise money for service related charities.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Mark Francois said:
“As the local MP, a former TA soldier and now a MoD Minister as well, I am delighted to support this special event “three times over” as it were. Our Armed Forces do a brilliant job in protecting us from harm and Armed Forces Day gives us an opportunity to celebrate what they do for us. I’m really looking forward to joining thousands of my constituents at this year’s event and demonstrating my personal support as I strongly believe that we should never take living in a free country for granted - and our Armed Forces are the ultimate guarantee of that freedom. Now we have an opportunity to honour them in Rayleigh and to show our appreciation for everything they do to help keep us safe.”
