Rayleigh and Wickford’s MP Mark Francois recently visited Grove Wood Primary School in Grove Road, Rayleigh in order to meet with the teaching staff and pupils of this well regarded school.
Mark began his visit with a meeting with the head teacher, Mr Richard Green, who then took the local MP on a tour of the school, including the proposed new sure start centre, and a new teaching block. Mark also visited the pre-school, Grove Nursery, which is on the same site and which is also due to move into a new building within the next few months.
At the end of his visit Mark invited the School to send a party to Westminster to see the House of Commons at work and learn about the political process in action.
Speaking about his visit, Mark Francois said:
""I enjoyed my visit to Grove Wood Primary School and meeting with the pupils and head teacher Mr Richard Green. The school was formed by merging the old infants and junior schools and from what I saw this process has been a success.
Grove wood is a good school and I intend to keep in contact in the future, not least when they hopefully come up to Westminster.”
