Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois recently visited CK Engineering who are based at Shotgate in Wickford, to learn more about their expanding business and how it is helping to generate employment in his constituency.
CK Engineering are specialists in providing engineering solutions for the automotive industry and they provide components for a large range of vehicles ranging from private cars to vans and lorries. The firm, which is privately owned, has been doing well in recent years and has branched out from its origins in providing solutions for Ford to now serving other automotive companies as well, including in Europe and the Far East.
In addition, the firm also undertakes engineering work for other industries and recently began work on refurbishing motors for trains which run on the London Underground. This is an additional outlet for the firm’s skills and an area in which they are hoping to win more business in the future. The firm have been supported in their endeavours by local executives from the Royal Bank of Scotland, whose Essex Business team is led up by John Kain and which has been helping to provide finance to the company to assist them to expand.
Commenting on his visit to CK Engineering, local MP Mark Francois said:
“As a local MP, I was grateful to have a chance to visit CK Engineering and to see the highly specialised work which they are undertaking on behalf of the automotive and other industries and the way which they are generating employment in my constituency as a result. It is good to know that even in these difficult economic times, local companies are working hard and winning business, including in export markets, and I was impressed by CK Engineering’s determination to expand further and to help provide additional employment to Essex people as a result. I also enjoyed meeting with executives from RBS and hearing how they have been working to help the company continue to grow. Overall it was a very good visit and I look forward to remaining in touch with CK Engineering in the future.”
