Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois, recently visited Home Instead Senior Care based locally in Shotgate, Wickford, to hear about the free training that the company are providing to those people whose friends or relatives may suffer with Alzheimers and other forms of dementia.
The company, which operates around the country, provide homecare visits to senior citizens, including those who suffer from forms of dementia. Although it is a private company, the staff of Home Instead also provide free training for those who care for people living with dementia, as part of an effort to give something back to the community. Having heard about this Mark visited the Wickford branch of Home Instead, where he was briefed on the services they provide to people at home (which focus around one hour visits but also on the free training they provide to members of the public).
Commenting on his visit Mark said,
"I was pleased to visit the Wickford branch of Home Instead who cover both Wickford in my constituency and the wider Basildon area and to hear what they do to provide support to people living with dementia. I am impressed by the fact the company use their experience to provide free training to those whose loved ones may be suffering from this condition and if anyone is interested in taking up a free training place I would encourage them to contact Home Instead on 01268 733820"
