Mark met representatives of a number of organisations including Rayleigh Town Council, the Citizens Advice Bureau, Essex County Council, Age concern and the PHAB shop, as well as members of the church who were supporting the initiative.
Mark also had an opportunity to speak with a number of carers about their important responsibilities in looking after loved ones and about how both Government and voluntary organisations can help them in their very important work.
Commenting on his visit in support of Carers Week, Mark said:
“It was a pleasure to pop along to Rayleigh Baptist Church to demonstrate support for Carers Week and to have an opportunity to talk to people who do so much to help look after their loved ones. Carers play a very important role in our society and it’s good to know that in this constituency we have a healthy selection of charity and voluntary groups who support them in their work, as well as the state. It was a really good day and I am glad I was able to be a part of it.”
