Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois recently attended a charity “Glitter Ball” all at the Rayleigh Club in his constituency, to raise money for the very popular Little Havens Hospice. The black tie event was attended by over 200 guests who enjoyed dinner followed by dancing to the popular local band Glitter Ball, who gave the name to the event.
The event, which was organised by Sarah de Cristofano, her husband and a team of volunteer helpers, raised the remarkable sum of £26,000 for Little Havens Hospice, which will now help to pay for the salary of one hospice nurse for a year.
Commenting on the event, Mark Francois said:
“I would like to congratulate Sarah and all of her team on such a remarkable achievement in raising this amount of money for Little Havens Hospice. The Hospice is a very popular cause in South Essex and that was reflected in the generosity of people who attended the event and who bid in both a silent auction and also a live auction as well. This was a really tremendous evening where everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and managed to raise a really healthy sum for such a wonderful cause.”
