Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, recently attended the opening of the new Library at Hockley Primary School which has undergone a major refurbishment.
Mark opened the library - which has been refurbished by a team of keen librarians drawn from among the pupils themselves - alongside new Headteacher, Melissa Heatherson.
Following the opening, Mark was able to spend time chatting with both parents and pupils who had attended the event, including a number of members of the PTA who had helped to raise funds for the project. Mark also surprised all the children from Hockley Primary involved in the initiative by inviting them to visit the House of Commons in the New Year, as a reward for all their hard work.
Commenting on the opening of the library, Mark said:
I very much enjoyed the visit to Hockley Primary School, and I commend the children for all the hard work that has gone into opening the new library. It is an impressive accomplishment and something all those involved should be very proud of. I am looking forward to welcoming all those involved to the House of Commons in the New Year.”
