Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois, had a great evening at the Rayleigh Club recently when he attended a charity ball which raised over £5000 in aid of the Anthony Nolan Trust.
The national charity works in the areas of Leukemia and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. It manages and recruits donors to the Anthony Nolan Register, one of three bone marrow registers in the United Kingdom and also carries out research to help make bone marrow transplants more effective.
The Ball was organised by Mark Heasman in honor of his late college friend Jamie, who died of Leukemia and attracted around 100 guests who danced the night away whilst helping to raise thousands of pounds for this very worthy cause.
Speaking about the event Mark Francois said:
“As a local MP it is a privilege to be invited to events like this and it was lovely to see so many people enjoying themselves while raising money for such a worthy cause. The Trust does really good work and I would like to commend Mark Heasman and his team of helpers for laying on such a great evening and also very successfully raising over £5000 for the Anthony Nolan Trust.”
