Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois recently spent and evening at the Mill Hall listening to a performance of big war movie themes by the Essex Concert Orchestra (ECO). The ECO had put together a special programme of military music including the ‘Battle of Britain’, ‘Dad’s Army’ and a number of themes from the Bond Movies as well.
Mark was accompanied at the concert by Councillor Christine Callis, the chairman of Rayleigh Town Council, and the well-attended show was greatly enjoyed by an audience of around a hundred people.
Commenting about the concert, Mark said: “The ECO put on a really cracking evening of military related music and it was good to see people tapping their feet and humming along to the tunes as they were being played. As a former solider myself, I really enjoyed listening to all of this and I think that the orchestra did us proud and I look forward to hearing them again in the future.”
