Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois took time on a recent Saturday afternoon to attend the 2017 Arts Festival being organised by Grange Primary School in Wickford. The event, which took place in blazing sunshine, attracted a combination of over 1,000 adults and children from across the Wickford area and beyond.
As a celebration of the arts, the programme included a variety of demonstrations by local dance groups and also musicians drawn from the school and the wider Wickford area as well.
Speaking about the event, Mark said:
“The Arts Festival put on by Grange Primary School was a great success and I am grateful to the Headteacher Lyn Corderoy for helping to show me around on the day. There was a really good turnout, no doubt helped by the fine weather, and everybody seemed to be really enjoying themselves. It was good to see members of the community having a good time particularly on the “Great Get Together Weekend” which had been designated in memory of Jo Cox, the Member of Parliament who tragically lost her life while carrying out her constituency duties just over a year ago.”
