Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois welcomed a party of 23 pupils from Bromfords School when they paid a visit to the Houses of Parliament.
The pupils, who were accompanied on the tour by the headteacher, Mr Martin Coulson, were taken on a tour of the Palace of Westminster, during which time they were able to go into the chambers of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords before the Houses sat for the day.
Mark then met with the pupils in Wesminster Hall where he spent time undertaking a question and answer session with the children. During this session Mark answered questions on a range of subjects from the Mark’s political day-to-day life, Brexit, Votes at 16 and the refurbishment of Parliament.
Speaking about the visit by Bromfords School Mark said:
“It was a real pleasure to welcome these young people to Parliament, to see and learn about this historic building. The group told me they had really enjoyed their tour and I was very impressed by the quality and range of their questions. I look forward to remaining in touch with the school in the future.”
