Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois recently spent an enjoyable afternoon attending the summer fete held by Grove Wood Pre-School in the grounds of Grove Wood School, during which he purchased a special bag, relating to his constituency.
Mark took a tour round the grounds to sample the extensive variety of activities on offer, which included over 40 stalls, bouncy castles, carousels, tombolas, and crafts. In addition there was a raffle with lots of prizes to be won, as well as Hot Donuts, Candy Floss, cake stalls and much more. Mark also took time to chat to stall holders and visiting families. Whilest doing this, Mark’s eye was caught by local craft stall Rainbows End, who were selling ‘I Love Rayleigh’ bags, which proved popular with visitors to the fete.
Grove Pre-School has only recently re-opened in the grounds of Grove Wood Primary School, after the temporary buildings that housed it previously for 18 years were knocked down to make way for the new and much improved building.
Commenting on the event, Mark said:
‘I was very pleased to have the opportunity to go along on a Sunday recently to the Grove Road Pre-School Summer Fete and lend my support to their fundraising event. I hope they managed to raise as much money as possible for such a good nursery in the Rayleigh area. Everyone had a fantastic day, and it was great to see the local community come together to join staff and parents for an enjoyable and entertaining day out. There were lots of great activities to entertain visitors and I was particularly pleased with my newest purchase, an ‘I love Rayleigh’ bag, at only £5 from a stall run by local craft shop Rainbows End’.
