Mark Francois, Member of Parliament for Rayleigh and Wickford, recently paid a visit to Beauchamps School in Wickford, and met with the Headmaster, Mr Mat Harper, to discuss a number of educational issues, including, school funding and the evolution of the national curriculum.
As part of his visit, Mark was taken by Mr Harper to meet with members of the schools’ sixth form politics class, who then subjected him to a detailed question and answer session on a variety of topics including the economy, the environment, recent examples of industrial action and the operation of Parliament.
Commenting on his visit, Mark Francois MP said:
“I would like to thank Mr Harper for a very enjoyable and worthwhile visit to Beauchamps School. The school has a strong reputation locally, including for the quality of its teaching and the efforts of its pupils- and that was evident from the time I spent with the school’s sixth form politics class, who asked some very good and topical questions about political matters, both locally and nationally.
I very much enjoyed my visit and I look forward to staying in touch with Mr Harper and his team at Beauchamps in the future.”
