Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois has warmly welcomed a decision by Essex County Council to invest several million pounds in significantly upgrading facilities at Castledon Special School, in Wickford.
Castledon School and the accompanying Castledon College (which Mark opened, several years ago) provides “through school” education, from ages 5 to 18, for pupils with special educational needs.
The new multi-million-pound investment, which Mark has been strongly supporting, will allow for an expansion of facilities at the school, including larger classrooms, a new gym and expanded car parking, among other things. This should provide for an enhanced learning experience for pupils, some of whom come from across South Essex and have complex educational needs.
Commenting on the new scheme, Mark Francois said:
“I warmly welcome this significant investment by Essex County Council into expanding facilities at Castledon School and College. Castledon already provides a strong education for pupils, some of whom have very challenging needs and this new cash will materially bolster the support which Castledon is able to provide them. I wish Castledon all the very best for the future.”
