Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois, praised staff and pupils at Wickford Church of England Primary School for achieving an ‘Outstanding’ rating from OFSTED, during his recent visit to the popular local school.
Mark had been invited by the pupils and teachers to address their new ‘School Parliament’ - an initiative pioneered by the Hearts Academy Trust, who run the school, as well as several others in the wider Basildon area.
During his visit, Mark spoke to pupils in assembly and also answered questions about his own role as an MP, in the House of Commons and in the constituency.
Speaking about his visit, Mark said:
“I was delighted to receive an invitation from Wickford C of E Infants’ School Parliament, to visit them and talk about being an MP. The school was recently rated Outstanding by OFSTED, which is quite an achievement and I look forward to remaining in touch with them in the future.”
