Mark Francois MP praises new classrooms at Sewyne Park School
Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois was impressed by the successful development of a new teaching block during a recent visit to Sweyne Park School, in Rayleigh. The block of six classrooms, which are environmentally highly- efficient and were built in near- record time, were constructed by Essex County Council, with senior teacher Simon Smith effectively acting as the school’s internal project manager. Mark was shown the new teaching block by Mr Smith and headteacher Katherine Dines, when he paid a visit to the popular school, which is rated as Outstanding by OFSTED.
Commenting on his visit, Mark Francois said: “I would like to commend Sweyne Park and especially Simon Smith for this highly successful project to expand pupil capacity at the school. As I studied history at university, I was particularly pleased to learn that the new block is primarily allocated to the history department! This is a very impressive example of good project management from a very well-run school.”
