Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois opened a new community hub, created by Hawkwell Baptist Church, at Golden Cross, Hawkwell, this weekend.
The Hub is co-located with the Church-run charity shop and book club, which Mark also opened as the local MP, several years ago. This new facility provides four confidential counselling suites, where local residents who are experiencing stress or anxiety can interact with experienced counsellors, who can help discuss their issues and hopefully help them seek resolutions.
Mark was assisted at the opening by the Reverend Richard Illes, of nearby Hawkwell Baptist Church, who inspired the project and helped deliver it, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.
Speaking about the opening of the Community Hub, Mark said:
“I would like to commend Reverend Richard Illes and all of his team at Hawkwell Baptist Church, for all their determined efforts in delivering this important new asset for the local community. The Community Hub will provide somewhere for people experiencing anxiety or stress to seek help and I wish this initiative and those behind it all the very best for the future.”
