Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois was briefed by senior DWP officials on plans to boost employment coming out of Lockdown, as part of a recent visit to Rayleigh JobCentrePlus, at Crown Hill.
Mark was hosted on his visit by Mr Dave Cope, the new boss of the JobCentrePlus network across Essex and Ms Sandra Valentine, the manager of the Rayleigh branch.
As part of his visit and tour of the facility, Mark was briefed by Dave and Sandra on DWP initiatives to boost employment as Essex emerges from Lockdown. These include the new “Kickstart” scheme, by which school and college leavers and other young people can be helped into work, with the DWP effectively paying employers their salary for the first six months, as an inducement to help create new job opportunities for young people.
Commenting on his visit to Rayleigh JobCentrePlus, Mark Francois said:
“I am grateful to both Dave and Sandra and all the staff at Rayleigh JobCentrePlus for everything they are doing to help get our employment market back on its feet as we emerge from the pandemic. Any local employers who are looking to hire new staff would be well advised to contact them to learn about the schemes that are now on offer, to both assist their businesses and get people back into work.”
