Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois, joined politicians and celebrities to celebrate an important part of British culinary culture at the British Kebab Awards, nicknamed the “Kebaftas.”
The event, which was held recently at the Park Plaza Hotel, Westminster, celebrates the popularity of the £1.7 billion per annum UK kebab industry, as purveyors of one of Britain’s most popular modern foods.
Speaking about the event, Mark said:
“We have a number of successful kebab shops in my constituency, such as Ali Baba’s in Rayleigh and Ali and Adam’s in Wickford, to name but two. I was happy to celebrate their popular contribution to our local economy at the ‘Kebaftas’ recently.”
