Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois, recently paid a visit to Westerings Primary Academy in Hawkwell where he was also shown around the new branch of Clever Clogs, which has just opened as a preschool, within the school grounds.
During his visit Mark was shown around the school by a very enthusiastic group of Year Six pupils who showed him what the school has to offer. Mark also had a very useful discussion with the school’s Headteacher Mrs Atay, about progress at the school including their ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted and possible plans to grow capacity at the school in the future.
As part of his trip Mark also visited the newly opened Clever Clogs Preschool which has expanded beyond its existing site on Main Road to now include a unit in Westerings as well. This arrangement has proved very convenient for many parents and was also welcomed by Mrs Atay as an important development in the life of the school.
Commenting on his visit Mark Francois said:
"I had a really enjoyable visit to Westerings Primary Academy and had a chance to see the good things which are being achieved there. The pupils who took me around in the morning are a credit to the school and I was impressed both by their enthusiasm and also by their obvious enjoyment of their lessons. It was also great to see the newly opened Clever Clogs Preschool and to hear that they are already doing well in terms of demand. I had a really good visit to Westerings and I look forward to staying in touch with Mrs Atay and the school in the future."
