A South Essex MP recently met with members of a charity, Employability, dedicated to seeking job opportunities for Essex residents with additional needs.
The Group, which works with both the Department of Work and Pensions and the NHS, aims to identify suitable job opportunities for such people and to provide them with advice and support to improve their chances of finding and then holding down a job.
Mark met with Employability representatives, Clare Gibbs and Lucy Hogg at one of his twice-monthly regular constituency advice surgeries, where he was briefed on their activities and future plans. The charity, who are headquartered in Harlow but offer services across the county, also work through local jobcentres in Essex to help support this important client group.
Commenting on the meeting, Mark said;
“I was impressed by the evident commitment of the representatives from Employability to helping those across Essex with additional needs find jobs and - crucially – to help them remain in them, once appointed. Many people with disabilities, be they physical or mental, want to work, with the right kind of help, which Employability are now clearly seeking to provide.”
