Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois showed his support for the Essex Air Ambulance at a recent reception at Parliament.
Pilots and medics from the air ambulance were at hand to discuss their vital work with MPs, as were staff from other Essex based Charities including Farleigh Hospice in Chelmsford. These groups are campaigning for an increase in the limit to pay-outs which can be paid by lotteries which support such charities, in an attempt to persuade more people to play. Mark has given his support to the campaign to increase the limits and has already lobbied Government Minister, Tracey Crouch MP, to this effect.
Speaking about the event, Mark said:
“It was a great pleasure to meet staff from Farleigh Hospice and the Essex Air Ambulance and to have a chance to personally congratulate them on the wonderful work they do. The people of Essex have historically been generous in supporting charities of this kind and I would very much like to see this continue well into the future.”
